Goodbye MCA

Friday night the world said goodbye to an amazing musical artist. Adam "MCA" Yauch, founder of the Beastie Boys, passed May 4th 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Please keep the family and the rest of the Beastie Boys (Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, Michael "Mike D" Diamond, and Michael "Mix Master Mike" Schwartz) in your thoughts. Although this is not a time for anger, I'm angered by MTV's airing their condolences  for less than ten minutes or short 5 second clips "mourning the loss". Bro, the Beastie Boys kinda define what MTV USED TO BE- music television. They took part in developing the music genres of today. I know everyone is thinking I'm a hypocrite because I'm just this blogger chick who likes creepy rock music, but the Beastie Boys did play a large role in my growing love for music. The world is mourning the loss of not just a rap music icon, but a music icon.
